WhatsApp click to chat button for your website

Set your number and first message, pick a look, then copy the code to your site. Visitors tap the button and a chat with you opens.

Pick the country, or type the number with its own + code.

Visitors see it ready to send. They can change it.

Screen readers read this out, even on an icon-only button.

Paste it just before </body>, or in your site builder's custom code box.

What you type stays in your browser. Risponse does not receive or store it. When you open a chat, WhatsApp gets the number and the message.

How it works

Three steps, no sign-up

  1. 01

    Add your number

Enter your WhatsApp number and, if you like, a first message for visitors.

  2. 02

    Pick the look

Choose green or white, icon or icon with text, and which corner it sits in.

  3. 03

    Paste the code

Copy the code to your page, just before the closing body tag or in your builder’s custom code box.

Where it helps

Made for everyday conversations

  • Online shops

Shoppers can ask about size, stock or delivery from the product page, while they still want to buy.

  • Service businesses

Clinics, salons and tutors can take booking questions without a long form.

  • Landing pages

Give people who came from an ad one clear way to reach you, with a first message that says which offer they saw.

When chats pile up

One phone is fine, until your team grows

Risponse is a WhatsApp team inbox. Connect multiple numbers, sort every message by department and let the whole team reply together.

FAQ

Questions about this tool

Still unsure? Email us and a person from our team will reply.

Is this button really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit. The code is yours, and it keeps working without Risponse.

Will it slow down my website?

It should not. The button is a few lines of HTML and CSS, with no script and no files loaded from Risponse or anyone else.

Is this a WhatsApp widget?

It is a simple button that opens a chat in WhatsApp. It does not open a chat window on your page, so there is no script to load.

Does it work with a personal number?

Yes. WhatsApp’s click to chat works with any active WhatsApp account, personal or business.

Can people see my number?

Yes. Your number is part of the link, so it is in your page’s code and visible when someone opens the chat.

Why only green and white?

They are the two colours WhatsApp uses for its own Chat on WhatsApp button, so visitors recognise them. This is a simple button of our own, not WhatsApp’s official artwork, which you can get from WhatsApp’s Help Center.

The button shows without any styling. What now?

Your site may block inline styles. Move the lines between the style tags into your own stylesheet and keep the link as it is.
